Biography

Siobhan Hodge has a Ph.D. in English literature from the University of Western Australia. Her thesis, titled Taking Back Sappho: Poetic Adaptors, Translators and Her Legacy of Control, examined the creative and critical legacy of the ancient Greek poet Sappho. Siobhan won the 2017 Kalang Eco-Poetry Award, was joint winner of the 2016 Patricia Hackett Prize, second place in the 2019 Ros Spencer Poetry prize, and was shortlisted for the 2019 Fair Australia Prize.

Her critical and creative work has been published in numerous places, including Overland, Westerly, Southerly, Cordite, Plumwood Mountain, Peril, Khlong, Rabbit, Contrapasso Magazine, Page Seventeen, Yellow Field and the Fremantle Press Anthology of WA Poetry.

Born in the UK, Siobhan lived in Hong Kong prior to moving to Australia and considers all three places to be home. She currently lives in Western Australia. In addition to writing poetry, fiction and literary criticism, she has a passion for horses and all things science fiction and fantasy.
